Dear friends:

You have invested in a Fellowship building which features both new and remodeled construction and which is incredibly green and high tech. We're going to need your help to keep the 'Ship running smoothly into the future.

Our new technology and the fact that our building is disconnected from all fossil fuels means that we now have more than two dozen different systems that will need to be monitored on a regular basis.  We are looking for eager volunteers.  No experience is necessary, but enthusiasm and commitment are appreciated.

To clarify, to "monitor" means to keep an eye on a particular system on a regular schedule and to inform one of the Building Teams' co-chairs if there is a perceived issue.  No, you don't have to fix the problem yourself.  A professional will be called.

We would like to provide training for each of the teams as soon as our training materials are completed.  The next few months will be ideal for such trainings as the building is unoccupied much of the time due to the ongoing pandemic.

When the pandemic is over and the building is open, we need to hit the ground running with all systems go.

Please look at the list of teams on the right side of the page and see if there is a team that piques your interest. Expand your boundaries.  Think outside your comfort level. We would prefer that each team had 2-3 members.

If you're interested in or have questions about any of these teams, please send us a message at buildingteams@bvuuf.org.  Building Teams co-chairs, Jim Highsmith and David Burrous, will be in charge of repair coordination and will be liaisons to the Board.

Thank you.

Jim Highsmith and David Burrous
